Before and 3 years after nerve transfers and cross facial nerve grafts for smile and eye reanimation.
Case Details
Smile and eye restoration with nerve transfers and cross facial nerve grafts performed by Dr. Shai Rozen in Dallas, Texas, combined with upper eyelid weight and lower lid support with Tensor Fascia Lata grafts to restore the smile, eye closure, and facial symmetry. The patient, an active radio hobbyist accustomed to speaking in front of crowds and teaching courses, presented with left facial paralysis for nearly a year, after removal of a brain tumor and had difficulty with smiling, left eye closure, speech, and eating.
